This is a Post Turtle, Projecting

Via Obama Said, ‘If You’ve Got a Business, You Didn’t Build That’?… I think someone turned off his teleprompter at just the wrong time.

Since he didn’t exactly stay on script and seems to have stuck his foot pretty deep into his mouth, I’ll clarify what he meant to say:

We’ve already made a trillion dollars’ worth of cuts (after increasing spending by three to twelve trillion.  But while the increased spending already happened, the cuts are projected to happen at some distant point in the future if some future Congress happens to enact the unrealistic budget proposals we didn’t try to pass). We can make some more cuts in programs that don’t work (such as your trying to get us to follow the Constitution), and make government work more efficiently (efficient at taking your paycheck)…We can make another trillion or trillion-two, (after increasing spending another five or twenty trillion-two) and what we then do is ask for the wealthy (and everyone else) to pay a little (lot) bit more …

There are a lot (two) of wealthy, successful Americans (… err I mean Democrat politicians) who agree with me, because they want to give something back (have the government take your money and property). They know they didn’t -look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You (I) didn’t get there on your (my) own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something – there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there (whom I haven’t yet been able to convince to live off the dole, so I’m going to try to tax them into oblivion instead).

If you were successful, somebody (Investors) along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher (or Mentor) somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive (They were the Founding Fathers, and the DHS has decided that if you believe in the founding principles of this nation, you might be a terrorist). Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business. you didn’t build that. (I don’t know how businesses are built.  I’ve never had a real job in my life.)  Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. (Al Gore worked hard to invent the Internet.) Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet. (Government research, followed by hundreds of thousands of private man-hours of labor, billions of dollars of private investment in research and development, hardware and infrastructure, years of work, and many many private individuals inventing all the different bits of hardware, software, interoperability and communication standards, and so forth that created the Internet, where anyone could start a business without nearly the amount of stifling government regulation encountered by brick-and-mortar businesses — but don’t worry, we, the Government, are working hard to figure out some way to regulate the Internet, and to restrict the free speech you have there.)

In short, Obama is admitting that he’s never worked a day in his life to earn anything that’s come his way.  Even in the Senate, he did little more than vote “Present.”   Every job he’s ever had has been handed to him by the manipulators who wanted him where he is now.  Someone picked this turtle up and set it on a post.

He cannot fathom a passionate entrepreneur working 80 to 90 hours  a week to make their dreams come true.

He seems blissfully ignorant of how difficult it is to do something as simple as starting a car service in a city like San Francisco, where a local government running a $170 million deficit will still spend any amount necessary to squash your business and put your workers on the dole.

He imagines every company is like Solyndra, Tesla, the Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project, 38 Studios, Fisker, GM, Goldman Sachs, and every other company he’s worked with — because he only works with people who are willing to trade massive campaign donations and favors for millions of taxpayer dollars and favorable legislation.

He literally cannot comprehend that there are hardworking people out there who actually earn their way in this world without any government assistance, and who just want to be left alone to prosper or fail on their own merits.

The Chicago politician cannot imagine any other way of operating besides corrupt Chicago politics.

And he thinks Romney is out of touch? (And just to be clear, I’m not pro-Romney in the least.)

Edit 7/20/2012:

The excellent Thomas Sowell weighs in on Obama’s rhetoric:

Take Obama’s example of the business that benefits from being able to ship their products on roads that the government built. How does that create a need to “give back”?

Did the taxpayers, including business taxpayers, not pay for that road when it was built? Why should they have to pay for it twice?

What about the workers that businesses hire, whose education is usually created in government-financed schools? The government doesn’t have any wealth of its own, except what it takes from taxpayers, whether individuals or businesses. They have already paid for that education. It is not a gift that they have to “give back” by letting politicians take more of their money and freedom.

When businesses hire highly educated people, such as chemists or engineers, competition in the labor market forces them to pay higher salaries for people with longer years of valuable education. That education is not a government gift to the employers. It is paid for while it is being created in schools and universities, and it is paid for in higher salaries when highly educated people are hired.

One of the tricks of professional magicians is to distract the audience’s attention from what they are doing while they are creating an illusion of magic. Pious talk about “giving back” distracts our attention from the cold fact that politicians are taking away more and more of our money and our freedom.

I think this is why he won the Nobel Peace Prize

The leader of the government regularly sits down with his senior generals and spies and advisers and reviews a list of the people they want him to authorize their agents to kill. They do this every Tuesday morning when the leader is in town. The leader once condemned any practice even close to this, but now relishes the killing because he has convinced himself that it is a sane and sterile way to keep his country safe and himself in power. The leader, who is running for re-election, even invited his campaign manager to join the group that decides whom to kill.

This is not from a work of fiction, and it is not describing a series of events in the Kremlin or Beijing or Pyongyang. It is a fair summary of a 6,000-word investigative report in The New York Times earlier this week about the White House of Barack Obama. Two Times journalists, Jo Becker and Scott Shane, painstakingly and chillingly reported that the former lecturer in constitutional law and liberal senator who railed against torture and Gitmo now weekly reviews a secret kill list, personally decides who should be killed and then dispatches killers all over the world – and some of his killers have killed Americans.

Papers, please

I received two interesting bits of news in today’s SANS NewsBites.

Item The First:

–TSA Testing New Document Authentication System
(April 20, 2012)
The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is testing a new system to authenticate travel documents. The Credential Authentication Technology/Boarding Pass Scanning System (CAT/BPSS) aims to detect fake boarding passes and photo identification documents. It also collects and displays travelers’ ID photographs, but once the document are authenticated, the data are deleted from the system.

Reportedly, nobody in the government yet realizes that they are acting out every movie script with the generic third-world totalitarian government that demands papers be produced before allowing the harried hero and heroine to travel to their destination — OR THEIR DOOM.

Item The Second:

–Executive Order Allows Sanctions for Using Technology for Human Rights Abuses
(April 23, 2012)
President Obama has announced sanctions against Syria and Iran “and those who abet them, for using technologies to monitor, target, and track its citizens for violence.” The sanctions include visa bans and financial restrictions. The sanctions arise from an executive order that specifically mentions the use of technology for human rights abuses.

No word yet on whether this will be applied to police departments and ATF agents who use technologies to monitor, target, and track US citizens for violence, or even to levy sanctions against those FDA guys who got on the Internet, only to discover Amish selling — of all things!!! — raw milk, and then ran in with guns out, pushed everyone around, and dumped all the milk.

Obama reportedly giggled after signing the order while calling up another drone-strike assassination of an American citizen he’d been monitoring, targeting, and tracking.

Obama reviewed actions he has taken to prevent mass killings since assuming office.

They included increasing the number of troops to preemptively kill people all thoughout the Middle East… in order to avoid mass killings later.

“That does not mean that we intervene militarily every time there’s an injustice in the world,” he said. “We cannot and should not.”

“No,” he emphasized.  “We frequently must intervene militarily before there’s injustice.  We cannot wait — we must strike first and kill them before they kill themselves or each other.”

Then he went back to spit-shining his Nobel Peace Prize.

Is Obama a CIA Controlled Manchurian President? by Robert Wenzel

Curiouser and curiouser:

Geithner’s father, in what I suspect was a CIA cover position, worked for the Ford Foundation in Asia. He was in charge of micro-finance for the Ford Foundation for all of Asia. In otherwords, he had an excuse to travel anywhere throughout Asia.

President Obama’s mother was in charge of micro-finance in Indonesia, and so Geithner’s father was the top level boss of Obama’s mother.

Our Troops do NOT Protect Our Freedom and We Should Stop Thanking Them for Doing So

I agree whole-heartedly with this article, as sad as it is.  None of the “kinetic actions” around the globe in which our servicemen are fighting provide any benefit whatsoever for our freedom.  And to the contrary, we are enslaved to pay for those operations, and they are destroying the freedoms of peoples around the globe.

Meanwhile, here in the United States, the fact that our servicemen are out killing and being killed by Nouns (Terror, Drugs, Etc.), we are losing our freedoms en masse, such as: the freedom to simply board a plane, open a bank account, to not buy health insurance, or to exchange goods or services with another person.

Who is fighting for those freedoms?  How come no one here is willing to die for freedom, but we are perfectly happy to let patriotic youth die in vain somewhere else for a President’s whim?

Particularly when the President’s wars are unconstitutional, illegal, and therefore, anti-freedom?

Let’s make one thing crystal clear, no member of the US military contributes in any way whatsoever to protecting the freedoms of the American people. As a matter of fact, they are more likely to turn their weapons on you than they are to defend your Constitutional rights.

The only people on this planet Earth who can affect your freedom are members of Congress, local legislators and the members of enforcement institutions who will blindly follow the rulers who sign their paychecks. And, while your beloved troops are murdering people around the globe, yes, I said murdering, your Congress and local legislators are eliminating your freedoms, en masse, without any intervention by our so-called protectors in the armed forces.

There is no honor in volunteering to go anywhere in the world and kill anybody you are told to, without question, without historical background and without verifying the stated reasons for doing so. In this modern age of information we now know that time and time again our military have been deployed into battle, to kill and be killed, for reasons that in no way shape or form resemble the reasons for which they, or we were told at the time. This is no secret, although many Americans refuse to take off the flag that is wrapped around their eyes and see American history as it really happened. They blindly believe what was told to them by the people who have a vested interest in maintaining myths and misconceptions.
